Tuberculosis Screening and Prevention

The Bureau and Putnam County Health Department TB Program focuses on both prevention and control of tuberculosis. TB is caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but can also affect the kidneys, spine, and brain. If not treated properly, TB can be fatal.
