Food Handler Certification Class
The most important change to the Food Code is the requirement of a Food Handler Certificate. This certificate is required for food workers who handle/prepare/touch food that do not have their Illinois Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate. This would even include bartenders that serve pizza and have ice. This food handler certificate lasts for three (3) years and is not transferable from establishment to establishment.
The certificates earned at this certification course will be required to be presented to health department personnel during inspections.
The Course will be taught in the Conference Room at the Bureau/Putnam County Health Department located at 526 Bureau Valley Parkway in Princeton.
Cost for the course is $10.00. Space is limited.
To reserve, please call 815-872-5091 ext. 216 for Kurt Kuchle or ext. 215 for Danette Smith.
Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be given to each attendee and will meet the requirements for the Food Handler Certification Course.
